We are seeking a Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance Specialist to lead the implementation and ongoing governance of our enterprise data classification, protection, and compliance strategies. You will play a key role in defining and enforcing security and data governance policies using Microsoft 365 E3/E5 capabilities, including Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender, and DLP.

Responsibilities

  1. Design, implement, and maintain data classification and data loss prevention (DLP) policies using Microsoft Purview;
  2. Develop and apply sensitivity labels, retention policies, and information protection standards;
  3. Configure and manage Microsoft Defender for Office 365, Endpoint, and Identity;
  4. Collaborate with stakeholders to enforce security baselines across Microsoft 365 workloads (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive);
  5. Lead compliance and data governance initiatives aligned with GDPR, ISO 27001, and other regulatory frameworks;
  6. Work closely with IT and InfoSec to enforce secure collaboration, access control, and audit policies;
  7. Provide documentation, training, and continuous improvements of compliance and security procedures;
  8. Monitor and respond to alerts generated from Defender and Purview tools.

Requirements

  1. 3+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 E3/E5 security and compliance tools;
  2. Strong understanding of data classification, DLP, retention, and information governance;
  3. Experience with Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Defender, Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), and Microsoft Compliance Center;
  4. Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, CIS Benchmarks);
  5. Familiarity with cloud security architecture and risk management principles;
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;

    Preferred:

  7. Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900) or Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator Associate (SC-400);
  8. Experience in highly regulated industries such as financial services, gaming, or healthcare.
